My dad was that way he did't believe in buying a part when you could make something work. He passed away 1n 1998 at age 89. This past summer I got his old SM that had been setting for about 10 years running. To my suprise it starts on first try runs perfect amd pulls like a demon. Everthing needed for work works fine but you sure would not want to take it to a parade.
