Tip #1 DO NOT FIX ANYTHING ON THE TRACTOR - this is where you lose money.

Tip #2 only buy when really cheap

Tip #3 sell them somewhere where they are not common, for example: standard tread tractor in the south where they only grew row crops.

Tip #4 if you must keep a tractor and work on it, keep it for at least 20 years, guaranteed to appreciate in value.

I know everyone is screaming ethics right now, but I do not rip people off. I buy at auction sale so it has to be fair. Also I pay fair market price for the area. Around here old tractors are just in the way for most people - makes them fairly cheap. Haven't lost money yet, but haven't done much better than break even either.
