Can a Super C handle a 72 finish mower. Kind of long

This might be a dumb question but not knowing the PTO HP of a Super C I have to ask. I have a 72" Ransomes front mount mower with a 28 hp Continental engine and 2 years ago the crank broke and cracked the block, cranks are $7oo and the block is shot, Continental claims the engine is obsolete, we already have $14oo in the Hyd. pump\drive and don't really want to spend more on a poor design so rather than scrap a rebuilt 3 blade deck I was wondering if the SC would handle the mower if I made up a mount and drive shaft\belt set up.
I have a bunch of open yard I could use the high sitting SC to mow and it would be faster I think in first with the SC doing the open area then 40" wheel horse for all the yard which takes 5 to 6 hours now, think it will work??? FYI the mower would be mid mount.
