300 restoration

while restoring my 300 row crop.after removing paint on engine block.on both sides painted on top of the primer in yellow stencil type letters 2" tall are the letters PES they are below the carb.& the same location on other side.does anyone know what they mean or refer to.i am the 3rd owner of this tractor and it is all original paint and parts.i would appreciate any help. david
