1468, 1568... were they that bad an idea?

Back in the days when I still farmed, I recall when the new 1468 and 1568 tractors with the duel stacks were introduced. What a sharp looker it was. Then I heard that the "sometimes 4, sometimes 8" cyl. operating system was less that reliable. Was that the case, cause you just don't see these anywhere near the amount of, say the 1466's out there. Was price also an issue? Thanks in advance for your replys. Jim
