That wrench was to tighten the large nuts that hold the drawbar in place, with some implements you had to remove the drawbar and use these same bolts to couple the tractor to the implement. Some implements were so close to the tractor you could not easily get to the axle housings to tighten the bolts, that's where the long wrench came into play.
