Yep,your right. I have a '34 F-20 with an after market road gear, maybe a Behlen unit, don't know for sure (shifter lever goes through the top, like a truck trans) and IT WILL SCOOT!!. I believe the regular SLOW 4 th gear is 3 3/4 mph. The optional FAST road gear is 7.07 mph. IHC couldn't change the ratio of the of the SLOW 4th gear because it also drives the PTO. They must have realized the closeness of the 3rd and 4th gear ratios and decided to alter the SLOW 3rd gear ratio to obtain the 7.07 road factory gear.
