You'll have a hard time disassembling the canister because it's supposed to be permanently sealed. I have heard of people taking it apart and replacing the guts inside. I'd just spray it down with carb cleaner and be done with it. As far as the clip goes, it seemed like my dealer could still get it when I bought a new bowl several years ago. It's called a bail.
