Many years ago I found a 2 to 3 point adapter at a farm sale that was a bit different. Instead of installing a top link bracket to the rear of the tractor, this adapter has a bar that extends up to top link height and then back down to the other prong. You use either a short piece of chain or a fixed bar as a top link from the implement to the adapter, not to the tractor. It's real handy because you can just pull the two prong latches on the tractor and leave the whole adapter on the implement, ready to back into the next time you need it. Wouldn't be hard to make one yourself if you can weld and bend heavy steel.
