Overrun clutch?

I know that an overrun clutch will "diconnect" the momentm of a mower from the transmission of the tractor so that I will not be pushed in the bayou etc. Will this also allow me to be able to shift gears quicker without waiting for the blade to stop spinning for like two minutes? If so it will be WELL worth the money to me. -- Martin
