My first tractor was my 1943 all fuel H. It was given to me by my grandfather when I was 14 or 15 for cutting fire wood for him for two winters. I grew up on that tractor along with the 400D. When I was 16 I told him I was taking the H to a friend house for a few weeks to give him a hand. I did not take it there however. I took it to the local car restoration shop and worked out a deal with the owner that I would do all the prep work and help him around the shop for a few weeks plus $300 for him to paint it and put the decals on it. I brought it home on his birthday looking fresh off the show room floor and gave it back to him. I had never seen him cry until that day. When I turned 18 I joined the Air Force and left for 6 yrs. While I was gone he got cancer and died. Before he died he sold the 400D which had set in the barn for 10+ yrs and all his equipment. I have since bought the 400D back. I paid to much for it but it means more to me that the money I paid for it. My grandma still has the 340 he bought new and it is for all practical purposes mine. My dad and I bought a 36' F-12 this sping but have not had time to do anything with it. My dad also bought a 450 gas this summer.
