The 80 gear oil will be fine. You can also use HyTran tractor fluid. I used the HyTran in an IH 140 for years and now I have it in my MD. My other two old Farmalls have the 80-90W gear oil in them. I can't tell any difference in the gear shifting or clashing of gears. I think that is more a function of the condition of your clutch and bearings.
