Joe, I may have to be corrected here but this is how I have done it.I remove the plugs and give each cylinder a few squirts of oil, then roll the engine over on the starter for several revolutions, That should get the oil pump active and raise the oil where it is needed. If you have the tappet cover off when you do this to set your valve clearance you can give everything up top a squirt of oil too, then put the plugs to it and light her up. Check your oil pressure immediately for it should be bang on when you start up. Good luck from Mike in Exeter Ontario
