Mark, sounds like the restoration tractor has a radiator on it that was used for tin work that was fastened with those 1/4 turn screws, both the hood and grill. The grill you are trying to swap came off a tractor that had the bolt on type radiator and grill and the spring-clip type hood. Mixing and matching these parts does not work well. I am currently struggling with the same problem, a tank that was intended for use with a spring-clip hood; I've got the proper hood but when I get to the grill, I'm screwed. The radiator was built to accomodate the 1/4 turn screws. Since I have no grill at all it's not a big deal right now BUT eventually I will have a problem making the tin work fit properly.
