You could have some wear on the end of the shift lever, a shift fork, or the part of the sliding gear where the fork engages causing this problem. The throw into 5th gear is not as long as the other gears and a little wear could make a difference. Another common problem is the 4-5 sliding gear in the transmission worn so you are not getting full engagement. Good luck. Doc
