Looks like it I've got it working ok. The original problem with flooding was a leak in the float which I had already fixed. But when I rebuilt the carb with the kit, I caused a new problem. Turns out the new inlet needle was about .030 longer than the original one. What this caused was a lot less up and down movement between open and closed. I don't think I could have bent or adjusted the float enough to make it work. Instead I ground about .030 off the end of the needle that works with the float. Then it had plenty of range in the up/down movement. The kit came from Napa and it was the right one. But it did have 3 different main carb body gaskets and 2 different intake manifold gaskets and some other parts my carb didn't have. So guess I shouldn't be too surprised the intake needle wasn't quite the same as my original one.
