Evan, I just replaced the bearing in the front end and the bushing last weekend on my H. It is a fairly simple job. You should take the whole lower bolster off with the 4 bolts directly under the tractor and then open the sttering gearbox up and take the nut off of the vertical shaft and beat on it and it should pop right down. The gear is splined on the shaft.Take old bearing off shaft, put new bearing on. Also, you will more than likely want to replace the bushing while you are at it. The bushing is about 3 inches long and it is right below the big sector gear.Punch it out and punch new one back in. You will also need to get a seal for the gearbox that goes right below the bushing to stop the oil in gearbox from leaking out. If you need any help just give me a holler! When I would drive my H down the road in 5th gear it was just like yours, that thing wobbled violently. New bushing, bearing and seal solved the problem completely! Good Luck with yours. RC
