Could make a grown man cry

Went to the salvage yard today and what I saw broke my heart. One of the workers took me back to show me a Super C they had gotten 3 weeks earlier. It was in fabulous shape like I have never seen on an unrestored tractor. It had all the origonal decals in great shape and the paint was still very good. The batt box looked like new and even the steering wheel still looked new. They had parted a lot of it out, Lights,seat,gen,wheels and tires and fast hitch along with other parts. Now comes the sad part.It was laying in some tall weeds like a fallen warrior, he said watch this. He hit the starter and it started right up on the first turn and set there and purred. The owner had passed on and his family sold it for parts cause it needed a throw out bearing. I asked the guy why they parted it out and he said he made his money back on just selling the fenders, all the rest is profit. Made me sick to see the old girl. He said he would sell it to me as is but it would cost a lot just to put tires and wheels back on it. Oh well.....another good tractor being scrapped before it's time.
