I believe an H original was meant to have a drawbar mounted mower on there. That system may of included a axle mount as well. Never seen an original set up. If your tractor has three point you would probably have to get a three point mower instead of the drawbar / axel mount becuase the drawbar/axel mount wouldn't work in conjunction with the 3 point. A trail type mower that hooks up to the drawbar would work as well. You just might have to add on the proper fittings and what not, if it wasn't right, to hook up hydraulics and pto shaft. Piece of advice is the drawbar/axel mount mower was a pain to hook up and unhook and is outdated. There are more modern mowers that work better out there now. A three point mower is handy for getting in all those wierd places but other than that it is outdated as well since it don't mow very good on a turn. I run nothing but pull type and that I believe is your best bet. The only problem I had with with mowing with an H is the no live pto or hydraulics. These features aren't a necessity but make mowing alot easier. Nothing you can really do about that though unless you mow with a different tractor. I have mowed with a 456 New Holland 9ft. sickle mower (pull type)with an H and had no problem in alfalfa. You might want a shorter bar in tuffer mowing. Alfalfa is pretty easy to mow. A pull type will follow tractor and do a better job of mowing all and all than the other 2 styles. Quicker hook up and everything.
