Greetings George, Dave 2N mentioned the discussion here over on the N-Board. Maybe I can provide a "definetive" answer on the 9N/2N. Surely the manuals from Harry Ferguson, Inc., would be authorative as to what the tractor model "name" is. I am sitting here with an ORIGINAL Parts Book for the Ford - Ferguson Tractor printed in January 1946, printed by the Harry Ferguson, Inc. company. That is well after the 2N was introduced in 1942. Every page has at the top "2N Tractor Parts List". That would seem to me to be sufficent to prove that the model was 2N in 1946 and therefore was a 2N from 1942 until the end of production in June 1947 when the 8N was introduced. NOW, I have heard that 9N's and 2N's were made at the same time during the change over. That was mostly, it has been said, to use up parts unique to the 9N. So that may be the source of some of the confusion regarding 9N/2N production. It also did not help that Ford chose to NOT use 2N at the beginning of the serial number and continued the numbering sequence from the end number of the 9N's. Regards, Larry

He wanted to get the rest of his corn in by the next day (Christmas Eve). We had about an inch of new snow on the ground and single digit temperatures. So in the bac
