Like the guys are saying it sure sounds like a fuel problem but you are describing the same symtoms my M has when it needs new points and condenser. You could remove the drain plug from the carburator and see if you get a good stream of gas for several seconds. If not its a fuel problem. If you do get a good flow I'd try the points and condenser.
