Run a wire from the field post on the generator to the most bottom screw on the light switch box. That is the screw that is right of the flat resistor. 12 gauge wire will be fine. We'll figure it out. You are correct on the amp gauge. The wire from the hot side of the starter switch should go to the left post. The light switch wire, coil wire and the wire from the bat terminal on the voltage regulator go to the right post.
