Good news Farmallers. My neighbor came over this morning with a 9/16 socket with a built in U joint. He was able to get it mounted onto the top bolt on the #1 rod cap. He then stuck on two 8 inch long 3/8 extensions. He used it like a lever and the bolt loosened up. I removed the lower bolt and removed the rod cap. During the day I kept applying more jack pressure. Late in the afternoon I realized that the block of wood on top of #2 sleeve was collapsing. So I removed it and wrapped the chain directly over it. My neighbor suggested I tap rapidly on the top of the sleeve to create vibration. Lo and behold it started to budge. With more force, PB blaster and pounding, it finally let loose. It is now about 4 inches up. I need to find some narrow stock to bypass the wrist pin casting on the piston so I can push the assembly the rest of the way out.
