Yes Haas, I am one who replaces Farmall seals with one new Technology seal which has never let me down. I see on this line that some folks are using two seal to replace the originals and I'm sure it gives them satisfaction that the job is done right,however I don't like to spend money and some of these seals have run me up to $18.00 each on the tractor I'm working on. The new technology in these seals is far superior to the felt and steel rings used in the 40's and 50's. I messed around with cars for years and a crankshaft/timingcover seals are of the same type as the new tech seals...they last 100's and 1000's of miles and run at 2-3000 rpms on a daily basis. The technology of the new seal and its propesity to resist wear are a plus as well, because it is half the width of the old seal you can place in a new location that isn't groved from the old original seal's wear. My local I-H dealer has been in the business since the 1950's and he just smiled when I told him some folks like to use two seals...he has only offered me one seal ever to replace the old ones. Those who feel they need to use two are not wrong, it makes sense that in a difficult place to work double seals guarantees them they won't have to repeat the job, but I have never had to repeat the job using one seal..maybe I'm a tight wad cheapskate!!! Anyway one new seal has never failed me. Michael Soldan in Exeter Ontario
