Raining heavy outside and I'm stuck inside, reflecting on life. Heaven help us all. Started visiting this group about a year ago. Have had Farmalls here on the farm since the first one was painted red so, the group is quite informative. Really a great bunch of guys and gals. Still have two 240s that get used daily, a row and a wide front. Bought the wide in 1963, nearly new. She has 11,000 + hours on the clock, but it only spins when it wants to. Had a 400, a 460, a Super "C" and probably a couple other I can't remember. Hopefully, one of you folks have rssurected the ones we sold and they are now proud "Show Tractors". If it isn't raining tomorrow, I'm headin' out to "show" the row crop. Need to "show" her where there is a woods-line to trim with her sicklebar. Might "show" the wide front where she can fill in some groundhog holes and a few other field chores with her loader bucket. These two have "showed" me for over forty years they're alway up to the task. Bought a brand new blue tractor this year with the ac cab and all the bells and whistles. Wonder what she'll "show" me years from now? Still, love my old "show tractors". Just checked again. Still rainin'.

As simple as a box plow appears, it can be rather challenging to make work correctly. In our sandy soils of Florida, traction is king. You can never have wide enough tires or heavy enough weights to get all the traction you want … unless you own a monster tractor. U
