FAA carburetor

My 1947 FAA still won't start. When I crank the engine for a short while fluid drips from the weep hole at the bottom of the carburetor. I suppose this means that the engine is sucking fuel into the carburetor's idle system, as it should. But, is it still possible that fuel (or air) might not be getting into the intake manifold and then into the engine for combustion to take place? What passages might be clogged or what else might be causing it not to start?
