Worth, as with any old tractor depends on the condition. If running and no obvious problems, the MDs usually bring a little more than the gas Ms. That is because there are fewer of them. However, beware of any problems with the diesel engine. Parts are difficult to find and expensive. I paid $900 for a non running but not stuck MD about 18 months ago. Fortunately, I did not have to do any work on the diesel engine, it just needed cleaning up and work on the gas carburator and the ignition. For Chassis parts, they are mostly the same as the gas M. If the MD you are looking at is in good running condition, etc. $2000 would be a good price. If it has been restored or is in exceptional condition, the price will go up from there.
