I bought my W-9 last September and naturally, I wanted to know what year it was. My serial number on the plate is 37951 which makes it a 49 according to YT mag. The original looking decals and hood name plate both said McCormick-Deering, but from what I've heard, they used old labels even after 1947 just to use them up. The stamped number on the engine block says 25591, but I have heard that the numbers do not have to agree. During what seemed like thousands of hours of sandblasting, I kept seeing a large "M" stamped in all of the large castings. Didn't think much of it until last week when I got a catalog from OEM Tractor Parts. It has a chart with casting codes and years in the front and says that an M is for 1943. So here I am at the very end stages of assembly wondering what year it is again. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
