Had the same problem, blowing the seals, both front and rear, on the pump shaft. I have been told that this is a common problem when these pumps are getting worn and even after they are rebuilt. I solved the problem by taking a washer that fit over the shaft, drilled 4 holes at roughly 90 degrees apart through the washer and then placing the washer over the shaft with the new seal in place and drilling and tapping #8-32 holes in the pump just outside the seal. Be careful not to drill too deep. No problems since. Hope this make sense. If not, e-mail me at tractorval@hotmail.com and I could sketch a picture.
