I purchased a '59 140 a few weeks back to mow my yard and plow some snow in the winter. I got the tractor, a 4' heavy duty trail type brush hog, and a 5' sickle bar Hi-way mower for $3000. The tractor has new front tires and good but weather checked rear tires and a few oil leaks. This past saturday my Woods L59 arrived for it and it works great. My rear tires are set in about the middle setting and are 55" to the outside. This way my mower still sticks out past my wheels. I don't have any hills in my yard that make me unstable with this set-up. If you went with the L306 (6') you could set your tires out to there widest position and still have the mower deck sticking out. I'm very pleased with my 140. It has enough power for everything I have asked it to do and is still light enough to not put tire tracks all through my yard.
