IH Cub Low boy - gear oil leaking from shifting fork cup

After about an hour of mowing, gear oil leaks out from under the shifting lever cup (held in place by spring on shift lever) It seems the transmission builds up with pressure, expells about 5-6 ounces of gear oil, then stops. An hour later it does it again. Makes for a real mess and has me stumped. Haven't recently added gear oil either. Any ideas?
