B Mag Cable

Can you folks explain how the cable wire from the stop knob connects to the magneto? This is an early B without the grounding switch common to later letter series. On the mag is a sliding rod that grounds out the electrical system. I can't tell the proper way to connect the cable to the sliding rod.
