Looking at your fotos it appears the clutch was adjusted to tight and the t.o. was against the fingers all the time, causing the groove tobe worn in. Did u check adjustment of t.o before you split tractor. Also something could have been binding and not letting the t.o. move back from the pressure plate fingers. I think you mentioned the metal tube was scarred and bent. This could cause the linkage to bind. My thoughts GS
