I bought a 6-volt one-wired altenator for my 52 L-162 straight truck at JCWhitney.com. I put the altenator in the truck as the directions said to. It said that the altenator should start right up, but if not, you were to put the truck to a high idle for a few minutes. If that did not work, I was to manually excite the altenator. Well I tried all of them and I finally got it going by exciting it. But the thing is, after I got it going I shut the truck off about a minute later. Started the truck again the next day, the altenator was not charging. So yesterday I manually excited the altenator again, it finally went. I left the truck running for at least 5-10 minutes. Shut it off for a little while, and came back to start it again, did not start charging again. So as of now I don't know what to do it. Any help with this point would be nice, thanks.
