Ignition Timing on Farmall Cub...

I recently acquired a 1956 Farmall Cub. I need to know the correct procedure to check the ignition timing. This tractor has the battery ignition unit, no magneto. I do have a timing light. I realize turning the distributor will change the timing and I see the pointer near the pulley on the crankshaft. I just need a few of the smaller details. Thanks.
