RB - Be sure to close the manual fuel shut off at the sediment bowl when you quit for the day! Reason: I drained 6+ gallons of gas/oil mixture from the crankcase of an Oliver 1850 last weekend. Turned out someone had removed a troublesome fuel shutoff solenoid not realizing the carb also had a slow leak. The combination resulted in gas filling the manifold then draining thru one or more cylinders and into the oil pan. Fortunately it was discovered before anyone tried to crank the engine.
