Robert, Your post brings tears to my eyes - I'm driving about 9 hours one way next week with a borrowed van and car hauler to pull my grandfather's 48 or 49 (have to check s/n) from SC to Chattanooga, TN, willed to me last year. My wife doesn't understand why I'm so obsessed with this cub - bought new while he worked for an IH dealer - I remember the rides growing up on his lap, and later with my younger brother, standing up on the drawbar - I'm sure he would have agreed - no lost time - I would too, and while my wife may never understand - my six month old daughter will someday. "Tommy Tractor" has his own little spot reserved in my garage while he patiently awaits restoration. I have no use for a tractor - yard's not even big enough for a riding mower. Anyway - glad to know others know how I feel - a cub is not a piece of farm equipment, its a member of the family!!
