I just changed the tranny oil in my C that I got last fall. The oil in it looked cream colored. I think it is because it is a water emulsion. Apparently the additives in the oil are made to hold the water and not let it separate. Consequence of never running the thing enough to get it hot enough to cause the water to leave. AS to the check points. PTO and transmission are together so only worry about the transmission. The place to check level is on the let hand side near the front of the transmission. There is a small pipe plug that is behind one of the pedal rods. I think it is the brake rod for the left brake. You'll probably have to take the rod loose to get to the plug. Fill the tranny until oil comes out that hole. As to the final drives, fill them up to the bottom of the fill hole that is on the inside of each final drive casting around the level of the drawbar bolts. There is no drain on the final drives. You have to remove the pan. Go get new gaskets before you do that. Use 90 weight gear oil in the transmission and final drive. Or you can use HyTran (Tractor Fluid) although some think it is too thin for the older tractors. I put HyTran in my MD and used HyTran in the 140 I used to have. I put 90W in my C.
