I replaced the burnt out voltage resistor with the NAPA part Red posted for me earlier. My test light showed bright light coming from the switch, and it was dimmer on the other side of the resistor where it goes to the coil. I hit the switch and it wouldn't start, although it fired right off when I had bypassed the resistor before putting the new one on. I left the switch on and tested with the test light, same results as before, then I noticed a wisp of smoke coming from the backside of the new part. Is there an "in" and "out" post on these things that I may have reversed? It appeared to be right. Any help would be appreciated.
