Thanks George! Yeah, I wasn't too keen on eBay either. Oh, and I got hold of a cheap supply of antifreeze. It's used, not really good for the radiator, but it's not full of trash and it shouldn't freeze. I was thinking of using that instead of calcium. Never did like caustic chemicals much myself! ...and the weight? I actually intended to use the thing as a working tractor, not just a big riding mower. I'm very aware of the HP limitations, but it was my Grandfathers. He used it as a working tractor on his small place - figured I could do the same on mine. I'll buy a bigger tractor one of these days, but for now, it's the only one I've got. Folks around here who use their Cubs advised me to add the weight if I ever intended to use it for plowing (not just cultivating) the areas I intend to use for food plots (deer). I've got implements to do just that and thought I was getting good advice. Heck, what do I know? Sounded right to me at the time. You advise going with wheel weights instead, or do you think it would be unlikely I would need the weight at all? If you are advising to go with the cast iron weights, should I use front and rear weights? A pair for the rear, and none in the fronts? I'm open to suggestion.
