The 656 has what I call a captive air system (The hydraulic system). The return oil is returned into the hydraulic pumps pickup tube. So all of the air that is in the system is pumped back into it again & again for ever or until it's sent into a remote cylinder or some place else. I fixed this problem on our 656 buy cutting the hose you see when you take off the 3rd link plate and look into the back of the tractor. You let the return oil go into the oil. And then I plug the hose where it goes to the pick up tube. Doing this made a new tractor out of our tractor. the only thing is if the oil level gets low the hydraulics will suck some air. But it's a 100 times better than it was before.
