If you have a "regulator" mounted on the radiator, likely someone has changed things around, because that is not where it was originally. I think a 52 MD would have had a regulator and not the cut out. The wiring on the MD is not all that complicated and I don't think you need to bother with a harness. Just go to a generator shop and get a new regulator and mount it same place the old one is. Make sure the shop knows it is for a 3 brush generator. Then you run two wires to the generator, one to "field" and one to "Gen"(or armature) terminal. Then run one wire from the "Bat" terminal on the regulator to the ammeter. If the regulator has an "L" terminal, that is for "load" or "lights" and does not need to be connected to anything. The other side of the ammeter should go to the battery. It may be just connect to the starter switch on the battery side. Then polarize the generator by jumping a wire momentarily from the armature(or may be called gen) terminal to the battery terminal on the regulator. If you buy a new regulator there should be a paper in the box explaining all this. Be carefull not to short out any terminals or ground anything accidently or you can ruin the regulator or the gen or both. Since there is only one wire to run from the regulator to the ammeter, it's not really worth a wiring harness. This is what I did to my MD and it works fine. I used two 6 volt batteries on mine connected in series just like they came originally. Post a picture of your MD if you can, I would like to see it. Good luck!
