Let me chime in if I may. I am having trouble with the hydraulics on my 1950 Super A also. Mr. Jim Becker mentioned on this board about the hex head screw on the head also, but my hydraulic unit dosen't have one. It has 14-7/16" bolts holding the head on, and nothing else, even though my repair manual shows a hex head screw, I have buffed it to almost shinny metal and none is there. I have it in 10 zillion pieces now. It has 17 O-rings of 6 different sizes. I found one O-ring broke on one of the 2 pistons. I am going to replace them all and try that. There must be more than one company that built these units.
