I went to pick up my newly purchased farmall A today. What a surprise! I drove this tractor on Tuesday and it checked out OK except the problems I knew about. Today it would not start (no big thing) but it also was locked up in the rear end. The person I was buying it from had dragged it all over a field before I got there. I suggested we tow it to start it and this is when I discovered the rear was locked up. It was 15 degrees here last night but it hasn't been very cold before last night. I realize it could have been ice but I don't think it would have been frozen that solid. Needless to say I came home without a the A. I am too much of a worry wart to have one completely broke down before I ever have a chance to deal with it. And that's the way it is. I still only have my two H's that run like tractors should run. In fact I ran both of them today about five miles so I am not at a complete loss. Thought you might want to know how I came out with my A project. Ed
