This Tractor Forum has lots of good tractor info as well as the occasional off topic thoughts about the economy, politics, family, taxes, etc. Copy and paste the below website and get a good perspective on our country"s current state of affairs. Almost 3 million Americans have seen this. It"s worth the six minutes of your time. Michael

One small thing. BECAUSE of the anthrax thing in '01, teabags don't get very far in the USPS and the halls of congress. Just send the string and the tag.
The message is the same.

Yes, you are right. Glenn Beck on Fox News was interviewing Bob Basso who portrays "Thomas Paine" in the "We The People" video. Bob said to just send the string and tag of the tea bag in an envelope. The message is the same.

A quote by the late Dr. Adrian Rogers, 1931 – 2005:

"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.

The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.

You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

The single biggest factor contributing to the fall of the Roman Empire was they bankrupted themselves through their welfare programs.

What a bunch of right-wing whiners you guys have turned out to be. Your guy lost the election, badly. Suck it up. Get a better candidate for 2012.

It has absolutely nothing to do with right wing whiners, it has to do with exactly what the quotes Nancy posted are. You CAN NOT spend your way out of debt, maybe the libtards don't get it yet, but the rest of us do. Its not real hard to understand.

That's right. We all lose any time a bunch of politicians get together and decide to do something to "help" us.

On the other hand we may have "won" if things get better any time soon. We will know it when we see it.

I have no idea whether anything the government is doing will help. This is a huge worldwide problem that won't be solved by amateurs. A Secretary of the Treasury that didn't know how/forgot to pay his income taxes indicates to me that there wasn't much change from the past administation to the current one.

Nope. Don't go assuming I am one of "them" unless you are willing to make me one of "them" for both sides. I am not a part of either side. I dislike both sets of crooks, depending on whichever side has done the most offensive thing recently.

The bailout situation is a rather desparate move, and we don't yet know how it will come out.
I can tell you that a lot of the "new" spending in the bailout bill is not new but rather repackaged stuff that was already in the budget. That makes projecting a deficit based on the sheer (HUGE!) size of the bill risky.

No, t-40, as usual, you got it 180 degrees wrong, the snake oil salesman in that cartoon, is obamerkle! I'll close with another Churchill quote, appropriate today, with the news of GM's conversion to Gubment motors, as it was when it was coined. "Some people regard private enterprise as a predatory tiger to be shot. Others look on it as a cow they can milk. Not enough people see it as a healthy horse, pulling a sturdy wagon.

T-40, I know that to argue with you on this is mostly pointless, but here goes, name the companies, not just the names, but the convictions and sentences meted out, for those involved in this so-called grand conspiracy.

Dave, that horse is bleeding to death and the wheels are falling off the wagon. Churchill lived in a different time, and his government was thrown out of office in between wars. People had no gratitude for what he did, but that was then and this is now.

UTBS, I use the Churchill quote, because it is as prescient today as then. Those who are too foolish to learn from history, are doomed to repeat it.

I certainly DO NOT want a 'puppet leader' or any other leader 'that try to help my life be better'; basically, what I want from the government is to leave me the hail alone. I acknowledge the need for cabinet departments of defense and state; beyond that....and without delving too deeply..... . I don't think (according to my copy of the Constitution) that anyone can justify the myriad cabinet and council departments,i.e., energy, homeland security, education, health & human services, housing & urban development, ad infinitum. Consider how much better everyone's life has become since the Federal Government has become so much more involved in the minutia of their lives. third party image

I dont know how else to describe the Presidents since Kennedy. All of them have been puppets.I dont want puppet leaders either, but thats all we get.Big money runs everything, may as well admit it.Big money doesnt care what the constitution says, but the people do.Seems to me that both sides are trying to bring a bunch of Americans up that follow blindly, never learn about the constitution, and rat on their neighbor.Same thing as the communists did.In its best times the communists couldnt even feed their people. This country is becoming communist right in front of everybody and its not because its involved in everything, its involved in everything it shouldnt be involved in.Just like Teddy Roosevelt did, somebody needs to break up the big corporations.Corporations are running the show, politicians are bought and paid for by them, and things will continue to get worse. We need the government to work for us people instead of making the rich richer.Getting the government out of everything is what has caused this depression.Flame away.

You don't have a corporation much bigger than GM, and it looks like the government is "Running the show". Obum just fired the CEO and looks like HE is dictating terms. Some of your post has truth, like people not learning the Constitution, and how our country is becomming communist right in front of our eyes. But, with what our government is doing today, I have to disagree about big corporations running the show. Also, I don't think the rich will be getting richer after BigGov gets done capping their pay and taxing the guts out of them. Jack
