Well, got a black angus cow missing on 3 cylinders. The fourth teat works great and flows milk. The other three are much smaller and only flow a few drops. They are full of milk and feel kinda hard compared to the working ones. The calf that's on her is off to a bad start and neither of the vets are calling back. Any ideas? Thank you for any help.

also try putting rubbing alcohol on her bag this helps the adema go down the best treatment for mastitis is to let the calf suck on her all he can once you get the milk started might ned a couple more calves on her once you get her goin also she might need some oxitocin to let the milk down its just a hormone i think you can buy it at tractor supply it dont take much though

Dialator, treat for mastitis and have a strong helper to jack the tail up straight.

I think we'll start with dilators. Would like to avoid a teat slitter since we don't have a vet on hand. Thanks for the tips folks.

Use a teat slitter and then a dialator. Treat for mastitis.

If the udder is hard and hot she may have mastitus or she may just be comjested.
She needs milked. Warm compresses and lots of massaging will help some. The vet may have you start her on some meds to clear it up if mastitus is what is wrong.

Leaning more towards congestion 'cause the milk that comes out is clean. Will try warm compresses and more massaging 'til our hands fall off.

Which direction from Bermidji are you?

I got relatives up there.

They are closer to Bagley.

I'm closer to Bagley too, on County Rd 2 four miles south of Shevlin. 'Bout 10 minutes from Bagley.
