My Hyster za80 forklifts alternator pulley broke the other day. It is so worn out that I could not weld it back together to make it work. So I was wondering If any of you know maybe what tractor used a alternator pulley that is just a single and has a 5/8” bore and would take a 7/8” belt and 3.5” in diameter can be a little smaller in diameter. Nothing comes to the top of my head. Went down to the equipment dealer that I use to work for and could not match anything up close enough. It came off the factory line with a generator but was converted to alternator before I got it. I got the parts book and thought about calling the Hyster dealer once to see if part number is good or not. Do you think Napa would have an alternator pulley that would match up? Tried other parts places with no luck just what’d too hear what you guys think.

Pro Line Distributors, LLC

216 Middletown Road
Fairmont, WV 26554-8106
(304) 366-2572

They supply heavy equipment electrical parts and can get darn near anything.

They might quote you a high price but this includes next-day air feight. Ya gotta tell them that it is not that big of a hurry and the price comes down.

My weird application pulley was 26 bucks but on my doorstep at 8 am the next day.

Didn't need it for weeks...

Any good starter/generator/alternator rebuild
shop should have dozens of pullys hanging on pegs.
Try Carlsons Auto Electric at Holmen Wisconsin,
10 miles north of LaCrosse.

The alternator shaft probably is metric size, perhaps 17mm. I use Browning cast iron pulleys and bore them to fit the alternator. The side projecting hub on the Browning pulley also must be machined away.

Do you have any independent alternator/starter repair facility in the area? Fleet Farm(I think you have them there) might have them also.

Best bet for stuff like that.

Sounds like when they switched it over to an alternator they took the pulley off the genny and put it on the alternator. I do that all the time. So I bet if you asked for a pulley for the genny it should have on it you would find it would be just what your looking for
