kubota injector pump

I am about to remove the injector pump from a kx71 mini excavator to have it rebuilt never done this before so what are some precautions I should take? It is letting fuel into the crank case and leaking outside too. Kubota dealer said the only thing to really worry about is a rod that can get broken anyone have a picture I want to have some idea as to what I am getting into.

What is the model of the engine Roy?? I've had several of them off, and if you take the kill solenoid off, you can lift it gently and unhook the spring they will come right off. put it back the same way. All I have had off are the 16 to 40 hp. Throttle has a groove it slides into

just looked it up and the kx 71-3 (slightly larger unit) is rated at 26.5 hp
