Well I had a clutch disk on hand that will fit into it. One from an Allis C is the same size. Got to checking things out and I think I found out why the clutch went out in the first place. I found that it had a bout 1/4 inch of play in the pilot bearing letting the shaft move up and down a lot. I did get lucky on it also because when I had first put this thing together I had used 2 bushings in it so all I had the do was pull the 2 out and put the bad one in first then the good one. I just hope it doesn't do it again soon because I hate to work on this thing since its tight in and under it.

Seems it should of had a ball-bearing - not a bushing. I've got two HGs, and OC3, and an OC46. All have bearings for pilots. All mine are later engines with water-pumps. I don't recall if the older thermosiphon rigs are any different. Mine are all Hercules IXB-3s or one has the three-cylinder diesel.

I put an aux. trans. in front of the three-speed transaxle in one of my HGs. They are too fast in 1st gear otherwise for any kind of heavy use. A Ford Model A disk fits in nicely for that - it's the same diameter as the OEM Cletrac/Oliver disk.

I know the IXB had a ball bearing type pilot bear but since this is an Oliver 60 engine in it, it has a bushing which I don't like but thats whats there

This one I think is a 42 with a ware loader on it but the blade is cut off so it has a dozer blade on it. And with the 60 engine in it, its tight
