(Sigh). If anyone has any of these lying around, treat them with the care and consideration they deserve; two just sold on EBay:
1909-1986 McCord, 584 pgs, $55.03 (16 bids); and
1916-1978 Victor, 344 pgs, $55.50 (19 bids). Plus shipping, of course.
Maybe it's a bubble, like housing, and prices will come down before it's too late (for me, I mean).
I got a 1930 McCord a couple years ago, literally by accident, but it's not going to have any company at those rates.

Good for you! Would the Victor catalog list the IHC FBB298. I would like to know if the FBB298 IHC uses the same head gasket as the FBB318. Would be nice to know if the other gaskets are the same too. Thanks.

Welll, no, or maybe, depending...
The FBB's were too late for the 30 McCord (with a 30 pub date assume covered thru 29) but they do show in a later Fitzgerald, lumped in with other IH FBB's and FBC's...
Fitz shows their Hd #033L for the FBB3, 279 and 298 (replaces OE #36132HA)...
They show their Hd #0633C AND their #0633L for the FBB318, 361, 401 and 450 (apparently replaces OE #137810R1). Both the C and L versions are listed for all four engines.
The two engines (298 and 318) must have dimensional differences as the valve grind sets, the rocker arm cover sets and the timing cover sets are different, all following the two engine sets (3-279-298 and 318-361-401-450) above.
No dig cam, and catalog is a poor green on white, but send a mail adds and I'll try xeroxing the page, as some of the minor gaskets and seals seem to be the same for all the 10 engines in this segment. This is a little bare-bones catalog, no pix of the head gaskets.
You can almost certainly get expert advice on what could be swapped on oldihc.com. Good luck.

Thank you for looking this up. I know it takes time. My catalogs are not quite old enough and do not distinguish between the FBB298 and FBB, FBC 318 very well. I have a feeling the bore size increased enough on the 318 to warrant a change to larger hole for the piston. 318 thru the 450 takes same gasket I think.
Thank you for going to the trouble to look this up.
